Chennai, Mar 13:Asserting that law should apply to everybody equally and not selectively, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also be questioned in the Rafale deal case.
Interacting with the students of Stella Mary’s College for Women here, Rahul, clad in light blue jeans and grey T-shirt, said ‘laws should not be applied selectively and the government should investigate “everybody, be it Mr Vadra or PM Modi”, he said, while responding to a question form a student on
his brother-in-law Robert Vadra, who has come under the Enforcement Directorate (ED) scanner in connection with a money laundering case.
Rahul said Mr Modi should also be investigated in the Rafale case.
He said he has no problem with the government investigation his brother-in-law Robert Vadra. “I will be the first person to say it… investigate Robert Vadra, but also investigate Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.
“Government has every right to investigate every person. Law should apply to everybody equally, not selectively’, he said and added that Mr Modi has his name in government documents that say he was directly responsible for negotiating parallelly with Dassault Aviation on Rafal deal.
‘Investigate everybody, be it Mr. Vadra or PM,” Rahul said when questioned by the students on Robert Vadra.
