Patna, Jun 14 :Ruling JD (U) in Bihar, a major constituent of NDA will oppose triple Talaq bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
JD (U) general secretary and Bihar Industry Minister Shyam Rajak said here today that his party would oppose triple Talaq in the Parliament. He said JD (U) had opposed government`s such attempts in the past and it would continue to do so in future too.
“It was due to JD (U)`s opposition only, the bill related to triple Talaq could not be tabled in Rajya Sabha,” he remarked.
Mr Rajak said that JD (U)`s stand on triple Talaq was clear from the beginning itself as it firmly believed that it was a social issue and so the community concerned had the authority to take a decision on it.
“The issue should be left to the minority community,” he added.
