Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday urged the Centre to give exemption to all small and medium enterprises from mandatory permission at the national level for first three years.
In his address at the meeting of the Governing Council of the NITI Aayog, Mr Gehlot said his government has enacted legislation to keep all MSMEs free from any requirement of prior permission up to three years.
'This exemption is applicable under state laws...I urge the Government of India to give exemption on the same lines under central laws,' he said.
The Chief Minister also maintained that the state government should be allowed to use 50 per cent of the funds in a flexible manner in the Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
On the Essential Commodities Act, he said the Centre should constitute a Committee of Secretaries of States and related departments to suggest amendments in the present law to ensure wide consultations on the draft of the new Act.
