'Members of SC panel are aligned with the govt, no hope of justice for farmers': Randeep Singh Surjewala

New Delhi: The Indian National Congress has stood in solidarity with the farmers since the beginning. Congress’ communication department head, Randeep Singh Surjewala welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to constitute a panel for dialogue with the farmers. The apex court had come down heavily on the government for failing to resolve the crisis through the dialogue process, while several farmers have lost their lives at the ongoing protest demanding that the three farm laws must be repealed. But Surjewala raised questions on the choice of members who constitute the panel ordered by the Supreme Court.
The Congress leader said that, “we welcome the concerns shown by the Supreme Court, but the committee constituted is shocking as all the members of the panel have publicly taken a position in favour of the farm laws.”
Surjewala elaborated how each of the 4 members from the panel held a view that was in complete alignment with that of the government’s, he questioned how would such a panel do justice to the farmers, Congress claimed,
