Our party does not work on whims and compulsions. We as a party reject violence in every form. We have been strong votaries of dialogue and reconciliation; it was in our tenure that the central government held parleys with militants.
National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that the awful situation in south Kashmir contradicts the recent claims of Governor Satya Pal Malik on ‘Operation All-out’.
Dr Farooq while addressing various delegations at party headquarters here said, “Our party does not work on whims and compulsions. We as a party reject violence in every form. We have been strong votaries of dialogue and reconciliation; it was in our tenure that the central government held parleys with militants.”
He said, “It is the right time for people to affirm how passionately they feel about state’s special status,” adding that a strong mandated government under Omar Abdullah will work towards ending human rights violations, CASOs, night crack downs, and other miseries that were bequeathed by the former BJP-PDP government in the state.
Dr Farooq said divisive forces of the country in alliance with their local RSS proxies will try hard to create nuisance in the elections. “However no matter how hard they try people are all out for a stable government that can usher in an era of development. Forces as inimical to state’s special status are living in fool’s paradise, they will lately understand how passionately the people of state feel about Art 370, Art35-A. People have made their mind to tear down the sinister designs of those who are contriving to annihilate our special position within the union,” he said.
