As it prepares to unveil the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Document, the Telangana government says that it will turn the State into a compelling investment destination for countries like Japan, China, Singapore, and South Korea.
Giving a broad overview of the upcoming document, which will be launched during the Global Summit on December 8 and 9, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that the State could convince the Union government to build greenfield highways connecting Hyderabad with Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
“We have convinced the Union government to build bullet train routes along this corridor,” he said.
“We also proposed to build a greenfield highway to Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh in a bid to access the sea. Manufacturers expect access to the sea to ship their products. Since we are a landlocked State, we will build this route,” said Reddy.
He said that the government has proposed to build a second airport for the State at Warangal. The document would have a multi-pronged strategy to help the State become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
“The document proposes to divide the State into 3 regions – Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE), Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE), taking care of the development of all regions,” he said.
The summit will showcase the State’s investment potential to global investors. “We are not competing with our neigbouring States like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. We are going to compete with countries like China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore,” he said.
The vision document will outline the creation of jobs by equipping 2 lakh Telangana youth and 1 lakh others for foreign employment, enabling them to compete with the global workforce.
The summit, which will be attended by investors and other stakeholders from different countries, will be held at Bharat Future City – a new city that the CM has proposed to build.
The Congress government has lined up two weeks of celebrations to mark its second anniversary. Football legend Lionel Messi will come to Hyderabad on December 13. He will play a friendly football match at Uppal Stadium.
