Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense stated that the country is prepared to send up to 20,000 troops to gaza to maintain peace in the region.
Defense Minister Jaffari Shamsuddin said if deployed, Indonesian forces would mainly carry out medical missions, reconstruction efforts, and humanitarian aid.
The proclamation coincides with Jordanian King Abdullah II’s official visit to Jakarta and his talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto concerning Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza’s future.
Under Trump’s proposal, a multinational force would be stationed in Gaza to enforce a ceasefire.
The United States has consulted several countries-including Indonesia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar-about participating in this force. Israel opposes Turkey’s involvement in this framework.
The composition, authority, and mandate of the international ceasefire stabilization force in Gaza remain unclear.
