The Imam Mahdi (AS) Scout Association has launched the world’s largest scouting gathering in Lebanon, honoring the legacies of martyred Hezbollah leaders Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine.
Under the title “Al-Sayyed’s Generations”, and marking the fortieth anniversary of Imam Mahdi Scouts Association, the event brought together 74,475 participants at Beirut’s Sports City on Sunday.
Under the slogan “We remain true to the pledge, O Nasrallah,” the gathering seeks to promote “the values of discipline and unity and build the future generation to follow the teachings of martyrs Nasrallah and Safieddine,” according to the association.
Programs at the gathering include religious, cultural, political, and sports activities, as well as modern disciplines such as “the art of negotiation” and “artificial intelligence.”
The association emphasized that these activities aim to nurture a generation rooted in knowledge, reason, and openness.
The Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, addressed the opening, telling the scouts, “You gather in one of the purest scenes, you are the bright future.”
“I advise you to have sincere faith in God, to be dutiful with your parents, to pursue religious and academic studies, and to be among the soldiers of Imam Mahdi (AS),” he added.
The gathering takes place amid renewed violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime, which have caused destruction to civilian infrastructure and resulted in deaths and injuries among Lebanese citizens.
Following its ceasefire agreement with Hamas on Thursday, Israel has intensified strikes on southern Lebanon, claiming, without evidence, to target Hezbollah’s military installations.
Israel also continues to occupy five strategic positions in southern Lebanon: Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, all near the border.
