Bihar polls: RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav promises permanent govt jobs to ‘Jeevika Didis’ with Rs 30k salary

Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Tejashwi Yadav Wednesday pledged to make all constitutional employees in Bihar, and Jeevika Community Mobilisers (CM) permanent government employees if INDIA alliance comes to power in the state.
Underlining the completion of process of filing party nominations, he announced the party’s poll campaign will begin on October 24, 2025.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Yadav said, “The process of nomination filing has been completed and now the campaigning will begin. We will start our election campaign from 24th October
Referring to the Nitish Kumar-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Bihar, Yadav said, “All of you are aware that injustice was done to the Jeevika Didis under this government. We have announced today that once we form our government, Jeevika CM (Community Mobilisers) Didis will be made permanent and a salary of Rs 30,000 per month will be given to them.”
He also announced that loans will be made interest-free for nearly two years. “The interest on the loans taken by Jeevika Didis will be waived off. All Jeevika Didis will get insurance worth Rs 5 lakh,” he said.
Yadav also promised to start the BETI and MAA schemes in the state. Describing the MAA scheme, Yadav said, “M” stands for Makaan (housing), “A” for Ann (food), and “A” for Aamdani (income), aimed at the goal of supporting families and improving their livelihoods.
The second major announcement is that all constitutional employees working in the state will be made permanent, mentioning that the government will work to relieve them of mental, physical, and financial stress, Yadav said at a press conference in Patna.
The RJD leader added, “We have kept forward our vision before as well, and they (NDA) are just copying the schemes announced by us…”
