‘Self-respecting society always chooses honour and respect’: Akhilesh Yadav on BJP’s Brahmin legislators’ meet

Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said under the BJP rule, instead of getting even simple food like ‘bati-chokha’, people get ‘mud and deceit’.
“The situation has gone far beyond mere dissatisfaction. When things escalate from neglect to outright contempt, no society can tolerate it. When only two options remain – ‘power’ or ‘honour’ – a self-respecting society always chooses honour and respect. This applies equally to every society, not just one particular community,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav was reacting to a so-called meeting of the Brahmin legislators of the BJP who were reportedly discussing the neglect of the community under the present regime.
In a statement here on Friday, he said, “The BJP is loyal to no one. Today, being called a BJP member has become synonymous with a negative identity. The definition of a BJP member today includes those who want to change the definition of the Aravalli range, to satisfy their greed and cheat the environment and future generations. They garland criminals convicted of heinous crimes and released on bail. They endanger people’s lives by selling poisonous and intoxicating drugs in the name of medicine. They rig elections even in front of cameras.”
Further attacking the BJP, Yadav alleged, “these are the people who can violate any moral boundary for the sake of corruption. They endanger people’s lives by administering untested vaccines. They spread hatred and disrupt harmony and brotherhood. They gang up and kill people in broad daylight. These people do not hesitate to corrupt even children while propagating their so-called divisive and negative ideas. They reject education and art, considering them agents of change, in order to preserve their conservative mindset. They consider power merely a means to make money”.
