Trump Rejects Saudi Crown Prince’s Request to Target Yemeni Fighters

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held two phone consultations with U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday.
According to the outlet, the Saudi Crown Prince requested that the U.S. President launch attacks against Yemeni fighters during these calls, but Trump reportedly refused.
Vice Admiral Cooper, commander of U.S. forces in the region (CENTCOM), traveled to Riyadh on Thursday for emergency coordination meetings.
This comes as the American network CNN, citing a source described as “familiar with Saudi affairs,” previously revealed that Saudi Arabia had developed its war plans for an attack on Yemen and had informed its allies of its intentions.
In August, Saudi diplomats informed U.S. senators that political communication channels with the Ansar Allah movement had been severed. They have requested Washington’s support for these planned offensives.
The report indicates that Saudi Arabia is also endeavoring to draw other nations, which have expressed reservations about aligning with the U.S. against perceived Iranian belligerence, into the conflict in Yemen.
