US strikes kill three, injure several in Sana’a, other Yemeni regions

Multiple US air attacks have been conducted in Yemen, including strikes on Sana’a, killing at least three, following reports of Yemeni Armed Forces downing the second American MQ-9 Reaper drone in northwestern Sa’ada province in the past 24 hours.
Yemen’s al-Masirah television channel, citing a statement by the Ministry of Public Health and Population, announced that the US military launched 21 airstrikes on Sana’a as well as its western, eastern, and southern outskirts on Saturday night.
Two people were killed and as many wounded when US air raids struck the al-Nahda neighborhood of the al-Thawra district.
American fighter jets also targeted the September 21 Park in the same district with five airstrikes.
An individual was wounded when air raids hit a cemetery at the Assafi’yah neighborhood in southern Sana’a.
In the Bani Matar district of western Sana’a outskirts, the airstrikes killed one person and wounded another one.
Moreover, US warplanes carried out three raids in the Bani Hushaysh district, while two attacks were reported in the al-Husn district.
US strikes also targeted the southern side of al-Haffa area, southeast of Sana’a, with four airstrikes.
No immediate reports about possible casualties and the extent of the destruction have been released.
Additionally, Hamdan and al-Haymah al-Kharijiyah districts were hit by two airstrikes each.
Elsewhere, in the central province of Ma’rib, an air raid struck the Sirwah district, while the Harf Sufyan district in the northwestern province of ‘Amran was targeted with four attacks.
The United States also launched 13 airstrikes on the port and international airport of Hudaydah, besides a series of attacks on the coastal city in western Yemen. No casualties were reported.
Three US airstrikes targeted the Kamaran Island in Hudaydah province as well, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
In response to Israeli atrocities in Gaza and US-UK aggression against Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a series of attacks targeting Israeli, American, and British interests in the Red Sea and surrounding areas in late 2023.
As the genocidal war against Gaza intensified, the Yemenis implemented a strategic blockade of key maritime routes, aiming to disrupt the flow of military supplies to their adversaries and exert pressure on the international community to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The US and its allies have begun a targeted bombardment of Yemen, destroying civil buildings and killing civilians in an attempt to deter Yemeni resistance from conducting further solidarity operations in support of Gaza and Palestinian people.
However, the Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.
