Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Yemen’s response to the recent Israeli assassination of the country’s prime minister and his cabinet colleagues will be crushing and regret-inducing.
In a statement on Sunday, the IRGC condemned the Israeli attack on Sana’a that resulted in the martyrdom of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi and a number of his ministerial colleagues.
“It is a clear example of war crime and crime against humanity, as well as state terrorism, which shows the savage and inhuman nature of this evil regime,” read the statement. It warned that the Islamic resistance in the region, especially the Yemeni nation relying on faith, will harshly respond to “the Zionist criminals.”
The IRGC denounced Israel’s backers and those who remain silent in the face of the crimes committed by the regime in the region, especially in Gaza. “Contrary to their illusion, the pure blood of the martyrs will further ignite the flames against the occupiers and arrogant powers,” it said.
The statement emphasized that impunity for crimes, unquestioning support of the US, and the silence of international bodies embolden Israel to commit more aggression, terror, and genocide, posing a serious threat to the security of the region and the world.
While extending condolences to the Yemeni nation, the IRGC declared that it would continue to stand by the oppressed nations, especially Palestine and Yemen, and will spare no effort to confront the occupying regime and its supporters.
The Israeli regime has repeatedly targeted Yemen in recent months for the country’s operations against Israel, including a blockade on Israel-linked vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, in a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza.
