Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says its Aerospace Force has carried out a combined missile and drone operation against two US air bases in Jordan in retaliation for a US–Israeli assault on Iran’s Larak Island.
In a statement early on Monday, the IRGC Public Relations Office said the operation, codenamed “Ya Mohammad ibn Abdullah,” targeted the technical and maintenance infrastructure and areas where enemy fighter jets were stationed at King Hussein Air Base and Al Azraq Air Base.
The statement said ballistic missiles were used in the operation and claimed that the attacks inflicted heavy damage on the targets.
“Every shot will be met with more devastating responses,” the IRGC warned, adding that aggression and crimes would not help the enemy weaken the Islamic Republic’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC also praised 183 nights of continued resistance by the Iranian nation, saying their presence has left the enemy “in astonishment and bewilderment.”
