Poem by Sayeda Nazish Sakina Qamar Abbas
,Let me tell you a tale of the Leader of the Hearts
As the lesson of Faith it does imparts
A boy who was orphaned when he was just in his month; four
So that the orphans of his nation he doesn't ignore
An exemplary student and a great teacher
He was surely something more than a preacher
The lessons of Ayatollah Shah Abadi flowed in his vein
Not to bow down against tyranny, he had learnt from Hussain a.s
To stand up against injustice, he had learnt from Qur'an
So he stood up for the Islamic Revolution of Iran
When Iran was ruled by a tyrant regime
To weaken the Islamic values was its dream
Ruled by the Shah who was publicly haten
As he was fueled by the Great Satan
Trying to inforce western values in this nation
The subject of constitution was facing violation
Inflation, extravagance and moral corruption
Degradation of Islamic values filled up the nation
In these dark nights when freedom was gone
A man rose up like a bright dawn
When he spoke his sharp piercing words shaked the foundation of Tyranny
The oppressors hearts trembled when they saw his followers; many
As he said
How long these nobodies want to be our leader
How long do these robbers want to guard these nobodies
How long do we have to stand English Injustice
They are unique in their cruelty
They arrested him, a man made of Iron
But a lion in a cage is but a LION
The day they arrested him, they themselves were frightened
As they realised their future is darkened
And the man with a white beard, Rouhollah, Didn't feared anyone but ALLAH
Exiled to Turkey then Iraq
For revolution this journey he embarked
He finally uprooted the oppressive regime
As Reza Shah fled fearing the supreme
A leader who ruled on millions of hearts
Lived himself in a simple house
Bore every hardship in his way
Staying away from children and Spouse
He used to mourn for the martyred youth
But to cry on his son Mustafa, he refused
Instead he bowed down to God in prostration
And said my suffering is the suffering of the nation
When he returned to Iran, he went to Beheshte Zahra s.a
And said, "O Martyrs, your blood didn't go in vain
See! With your pure blood
We have raised a nation of Karbala and Hussain a.s
In the days he was as firm as the mountain
At nights his eyes shed tears like a fountain
As he prayed for the soldiers of the Holy defense
Who protected the revolution at their lives at dispense
He said, "Be United, for sure victory is near
When you have Allah besides you have no fear
With the blessings of Imam Reza a.s and Lady Masooma s.a
The holy Infallibles and Lady Zahra s.a
He brought light to the darkest night
Helped Iran to come out of this plight
And when today, on the 3rd of June, he breathed his last
More than 10 millions ran to embrace their leader, fast
The Leader of the Hearts, a true Hosseini
Was none other than Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini
