Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the United States must return to its commitments and the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Referring to his meetings and discussions on the first day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, Araghchi said late on Monday that in all these meetings, he had emphasized the Iranian nation’s resolve to secure its rights and also discussed the aggressive actions of the United States and their consequences.
After the first day of the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan, Araghchi said all meetings and discussions were strictly businesslike and free of standard formalities; particular emphasis was placed on existing opportunities for cooperation in the economy and other areas.
He added that the issue of aggressive US attacks and their consequences was also addressed, emphasizing that the Iranian nation will continue to stand firm in upholding its rights — a point that was underscored in all the meetings.
Araghchi continued that one of the topics raised in all the meetings was the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, which was signed by the presidents of Iran and the United States, adding that the United States has violated the MoU.
He also emphasized that Washington must return to its commitments and adhere to the memorandum’s terms; only then this situation will be resolved.
