Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has launched ballistic missiles at a hangar housing American RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones at Prince Hassan Airbase in Jordan in response to the latest US aggression against Iran.
“IRGC Aerospace Force fighters launched a heavy ballistic missile attack on the hangars housing long-range RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones at the US airbase in Jordan, known as Prince Hassan Air Base. Several drones were destroyed, while a number of pilots and flight maintenance crew members were killed,” the IRGC said in a statement on Wednesday.
It added that multiple infrastructure facilities at the base were also set ablaze as a result of the Iranian missile attack.
The IRGC emphasized that the attack was carried out in retaliation for a US strike on a wedding ceremony for a Sunni couple near the city of Sirik in Hormuzgan Province late Tuesday.
The US airstrike killed at least five people, including a child, and injured dozens more.
