Head of the National Iraqi Alliance (NIA) Ammar Hakim said holding talks between Iran and its neighboring countries is of great importance.
Hakim made the remarks talking with reporters after a meeting with Kuwaiti senior officials.
He pointed to President Hassan Rouhani re-election as Iran’s president, saying that
Iraq enjoys close ties with Iran and Iran is also interested in holding talks with neighbors on issues of mutual interest.
Ammar Hakim referred to Iraqi forces fight against Daesh terrorist group, noting that Iraqi people are trying their best to uproot them.
Iraq and Kuwait have, in the past few months, taken big steps to upgrade bilateral political and economic relations.
