Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif strongly criticized the US cooperation with Saudi Arabia in bombing Yemeni people.
'It's official: Supplying bombs, targets and refueling #Saudi warplanes is apparently not enough. US now proclaiming that it's 'doing the planning' in war on #Yemen too. US complicity in world's biggest humanitarian disaster unfathomable,' Zarif wrote on his twitter account on Thursday.
The tweet by Iran's FM comes two days after the US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis told reporters on Tuesday that the US military is “doing the planning” of Saudi Arabia’s military invasion of Yemen.
Mattis also said that the US has been involved in refueling of Saudi warplanes.
A military intervention in Yemen was launched in 2015 by Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a number of other Arab states and supported by West. The bombings have claimed lives of thousands Yemeni civilians, including hundreds of children.
Human rights groups have frequently accused Saudi Arabia of violating basic rights of the people of Yemen, as the coalition has bombarded many civilian places, including schools and hospitals.
