President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that terrorism is the opposite of culture and art, contending that terrorism aims to eliminate humanity and human civilization.
He made the remarks in an iftar banquet late on Wednesday attended by artists and cultural experts.
'The Iranian nation will withstand terror, violence and extremism more resistantly than before,” he said.
Language of terrorism is bullet and violence and it has taken aim at civilization of a nation who has withstood against the evil phenomenon from the beginning and has even saved the big nations against terrorism, the president said, noting that naturally it will pay for its resistance against the evil phenomenon.
The reason why the Iranian nation gives martyrs near the parliament and Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini is that it did not favor hostility and adhered democracy and ballot box. The nation will continue with the path of resistance and steadfastness through language of art and culture, he said.
The top executive official said that over the past years, terrorists were thinking about infiltrating the country and deal a blow to the nation, but they failed many times and today they also failed to enter Majlis and Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini.
Noting that the artists display relationship between mankind and nature and the Creator via language of art, Rouhani said that Islam is the religion of speaking with God and it teaches humanity how to worship and pray.
“Science and art know no boundaries and we are alive and dynamic with art,” he said, adding that Islam is the religion of art and the Holy Qur’an is based on art.
