Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said the country has gained such high level of capabilities that it can design and manufacture any type of military gear domestically.
Iran has reached such position that it faces no shortage when it comes to the production of military hardware and ammunition, Major General Baqeri said in a cultural ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday.
He also noted that Iran’s deterrent power has become so great that none of the world powers would dare to take action against the country.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Iranian military officials maintain that the country does not favor a war, but it is fully prepared to respond to any hostile assault.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on several occasions cautioned the adversaries that Iran’s response to any assault will not be confined to defense alone, but aggressors will face a crushing response.
