If it was not for Iran's support, we could not have attained such big victories against terrorism and in favor of backing the Iraqi nation, Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister said on Wednesday.
The victories are against terrorism, its supporters, and those who are attempting to escape their commitment under Iran's nuclear deal, Faisal Mekdad said in a meeting with the member of Iran's Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati.
'We are standing by our brothers in Iran and Iraq, and we will support them to preserve Iraq's integrity and unity of the Iraqi people,' he said.
The international situation will be changed if the Resistance Axis continues its efforts, and we will gain victory as the result of resistance, Iran's support and resistance of the Arab Republuc of Syria, as well as all the forces that are on the path of righteousness, including Lebanese Hezbollah that is beside Syria and Iran to actualize the victory, he added.
Mekdad will participate in Iran-Syria joint political committee and meet senior Iranian officials.
