Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader said that recent unrests in Iran was a manifestation of the US and the Zionist regime's plots, and some voices heard in the riots were those of Trump and Netanyahu.
'The slogans chanted on behalf of Trump and Netanyahu' in the recent riots that said Neither Gaza, Nor Lebanon are the voices of 'outsiders', and should be stifled, Ahmad Khami said in his sermons before the Friday prayers at the University of Tehran.
The global arrogance has been experiencing incessant defeats, he said. 'They, who had created Daesh (ISIS), said that Mosul liberation would take 10 to 30 years, but it was concluded in 8 months with Iran's help.'
They wanted to create 'a new Israel' in the region, but the force that made them disappointed was Iran, he said.
Saudi Arabia financed the US plot, he said, and it was supposed that arms would be transferred to Iran from the US bases in Herat and Erbil to accomplish the plot in February.
The cleric also appreciated popular rallies in support of Iranian government and Islamic establishment that were held all over the country in recent days, and described them a showcase of the nation's strength in confronting the seditions.
During the recent unrest in Iran, that began with criticism of economic hardships and evolved into violent riots due to foreign interventions, the US officials, including President Donald Trump, rushed to provoke the protesters by tweeting, commenting in media and asking for UN Security Council emergency meeting.
Iran in a letter to the United Nations' Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the chair-state of Security Council has protested to the US meddling in its internal affairs.
