On the eve of world mosque day, gathering of al-Aqsa mosque’s defenders was held in Razavi Holy Shrine. This ceremony was participated by both Sunni and Shia scholars.
According to Astan News, al-Aqsa mosque was set in fire by the Zionists on Mordad 30, 1348/August 21, 1969. Many years later and on this occasion, the day was called world mosque day, proposing by Islamic Republic of Iran and adopting by OIC members. This nomination took place in 30th forum of the OIC.
To commemorate world mosque day and in a beautiful action with presence of both Shia and Sunni scholars from fifteen different nationalities, Astan Quds Razavi arranged a commemoration ritual.
This ceremony was held in Quds Courtyard with the presence of Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi, Astan Quds Razavi’s custodian, a number of Sunni and Shia scholars, martyrs’ families, officials of the country, and Razavi servants.
At the beginning of this program and after Qur’an recitation, all the participants chanted slogans against Israel and its crimes. In continuation of the ceremony, evening collective prayer was held leading by Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin Raeisi.
Following prayers, Molavi Ahmad Saremi, seminary professor of Torbat Jam, delivered his lecture. Referring that supporting Palestine is a duty for all Muslims, he stated, “All world Muslims, maintaining their unity, must resist against the Zionists and support Jerusalem’s people and al-Aqsa mosque”.
Elsewhere in this glorious program, Astan Quds Razavi’s custodian talked about position of mosque and importance of al-Aqsa mosque. He noted that al-Aqsa mosque is important for both Sunni and Shia Muslims and one of the reasons behind creation of today’s Takfiri groups is to marginalize innocence of Palestinians. He also said, “Islamic Republic of Iran has taken, following Imam Khomeini’s (R.A.) path, many great steps”.
Exalting family of martyr “Juan Corcel”, French veteran and martyr of the 8-year holy defense was the ornament of special program of world mosque day in Razavi Holy Shrine. This commendation was done by Hujjat al-Islam Raeisi.
It is reminded that Juan Corcel is Christian youth born in France. He finished his education in France’s universities. After converting to Shia Islam, he immigrated to Iran and continued his education in Hujjatiyeh seminary school of Qom. Juan, who is in Iran in 1366 and 1367/ 1987 and 1988, decides to go to the front line and fight with Iranian veterans against Iraqi army. Corcel becomes martyr in the very operation.
