Tehran, March 22 - Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday that a developed and safe region is possible through cooperation of all regional countries.
The spokesman also assessed as positive the recent statements made by Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the need for interaction and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In response to a question raised by the Islamic Republic News Agency on the statements of the Kuwaiti first deputy prime minister and minister of defense at the opening ceremony of an investment conference, Qasemi said 'Iran sees ties and cooperation with its neighbors as the first priority of its foreign policy.'
He said the Islamic Republic believes that a developed and safe region can be achieved only through collective contribution and cooperation of all neighboring states.
In today's world, welfare, development and economic progress of regional countries can be achieved by means of collective mechanism, setting aside differences through dialogue and contribution of all countries of the region and to this end the Islamic Republic has always be ready to move in this direction.
