Iran policy in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman is defensive and deterrent while maintaining all-out and active presence, Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters Commander said.
Major general Gholam Ali Rashid made the remarks Saturday in a meeting with naval forces while visiting Makran and the Persian Gulf beach.
Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman have special status in Iran’s defensive-security policies, he said.
In addition to monitoring and managing developments, we have to be ready to confront unpredictable events, he added.
Iran’s policies in Persian Gulf follow three principles of interaction, active cooperation with neighbors, defending security, stability in the region and firmly fighting trans-regional powers' intervention in the region, General Rashid said.
Iranian armed forces will defend their interests in the region and will firmly and intelligently confront all the provocative and destabilizing behaviors in the region, he reiterated.
No country should test Iran's strategic strength and patience in defending its interests and stability in the region, Iranian commander said.
