Iran's Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari said on Saturday that police is fully ready to counter any terrorist attack powerfully.
Speaking to police staff and commanders, he noted that the Wednesday attack showed the power of Iran's military, police and security forces in countering terrorists and enemies.
Several terrorist groups have tried in recent years to infiltrate the country and they were given crushing response in the border regions or they were detected and arrested inside the cities, Ashtari noted.
He said that the Iranian security, military and police forces showed their intelligence dominance in swift reaction to recent terrorist attacks.
The terrorist attacks reinforced national consolidation in the country, Ashtari noted.
He said, 'Takfiri and terrorist groups aim to oust the Islamic establishment and we should be vigilant towards the phenomena.”
Showing hostility is part of the enemy nature and needs to be given crushing response, the police chief added.
In two terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday (June 7) against Majlis (parliament) and Imam Khomeini Mausoleum 17 people were killed and 52 other were wounded.
ISIS had accepted responsibility for attacks.
