Iran's Judiciary chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said on Monday that Donald Trump's move to recognize Beit ul-Muqaddas as the capital of the Zionist regime is an attempt to cover up the US defeats in the region.
Larijani made the remarks speaking during a meeting of senior judiciary officials.
Noting that the US and the Zionist regime has been attempting over the past months and years to marginalize the issue of Palestine, the judiciary chief said that the creation of Daesh terrorist group was an attempt in this regard.
The issue of Palestine is the main issue of the Muslim world that cannot be ignored by the Muslims, Larijani said.
'The US and the Zionist regime made repeated attempts to push back this issue so that it will not be a priority any longer,' Larijani said, adding that with Trump's 'nonsense act' the issue of Palestine was once again raised as the number one issue of the Muslim world and even those Muslim countries who acted in line with the US in some parts expressed their outrage over the US president's act.
