TEHRAN – Public Relations Office of IRGC’s drone unit based in the Persian Gulf said airborne patrols will be carefully and uninterruptedly pursued within Iran’s ADIZ.
The statement was issued in response to a US Navy statement on August 14 on approach by an Iranian drone of a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, called USS Nimitz, in the Persian Gulf.
“Iran’s air patrol missions are routinely carried out within the country’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on a daily basis and in accordance with current laws,” the statement underlined.
The announcement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also deemed America’s claims on unsafe approach of IRGC’s drone as baseless and unfounded adding “IRGC’s drones are equipped with standard navigation systems and are guided accurately and professionally; therefore, claims made by Americans are rooted in weakness of their diagnostic and identification systems or otherwise in their intension to mislead the public opinion.”
The Public Relations Department of IRGC’s drone unit in the Persian Gulf, in the end, emphasized that drone patrols will be continued carefully and continuously in the mission areas within the framework of protecting borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran regardless of the mental war created by alien forces in the Persian Gulf.
