Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani says the notorious elements and saboteurs as well as those behind the recent unrest will be strongly confronted.
Addressing a group of the judiciary officials, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said that however, a large number of those arrested in the course of the recent events, who were deceived and did not harm national assets, were subject to the Islamic mercy.
'But we will strongly deal with the notorious elements, the saboteurs and those having links with the foreign countries in the course of recent events.'
'Since the beginning we have been advising the attorney chiefs to make a distinction between those being deceived and rioters; on this basis, a large number of the arrested persons, who were deceived and did not destroy assets, were subject to the Islamic passion. We will categorically and within the framework of the law confront such groups and will not allow certain people and trends to lower the cost of the riots because we believe that lowering the cost of the riots for the rioters will threaten security, strength and rights of people.'
Referring to the US hostility against the Islamic Republic establishment and other freedom-loving systems of the world, he said, 'Unfortunately, a new dimension of the US animosity gets clear everyday.'
Recently, a report was released which points to the cost endured by the US administration to create uproar in Iran, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said, adding, 'Of course, the US hostility and its budget to create unrest in Iran is not something new, but the fact that they spent millions of dollars to cause insecurity and unrest in Iran, including recent events, and that they hoped the cost will be effective, are something important and noteworthy.'
Such measures show their ignorance about the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic's establishment, he added.
'The enemy exercises perseverance in its enmity and as it acknowledges, it wants change of political system in Iran. Such an approach is well clear in action and commenting on the issue, it should be said that they have always been trying to impose their favored liberal democratic system on the world.'
'Enemies, especially Americans always bully and create uproar and coup d'etat in the countries to bring to power their puppets under the claim of freedom-loving. Presently there are much evidence that substantiate who organizes colorful revolutions under such titles as freedom-loving and peace-seeking, thus bringing to power their favorite individuals.'
