Tehran,- Don't take all the huff and puff of the newcomer in the US seriously. The US has always wanted to overthrow the Islamic establishment of Iran. And they have always failed, said Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed
Ali Khamnie.
The Leader made the remarks in a meeting on Sunday evening with the families of martyred border guards and holy shrine defenders. The meeting was held on the 23rd day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
According to Ayatollah Khamenei’s official website, the Leader opened up by speaking on the concerns of the people, namely on the recent barrage of threats from the US government and their allies.
Noting that 'Our revolution faced big enemies from the beginning,” the Leader asserted the distasteful threats from [the US President Donald] Trump as nothing new or original.
The Leader went on to say: “The only thing that has changed, is the tone of speech; We have always faced the huff and puff since the early days of the Revolution--for nearly 40 years now!--they couldn’t do anything then, when the newly born revolution was a small seedling in the ground; they surely can't cut it down now, since it's grown into this strong fruitful tree!
Ayatollah Khamenei spoke to remind the audience that old challenges have never broken the Islamic establishment. To that notion, he added, 'You say you want to change the Islamic Republic? You have always wanted to overthrow the system; and you always failed with everything backfiring on you, and of course that won't change!'
The Leader explained: “You see, from the beginning of the revolution, we had countless numbers of those who wished to destroy the Islamic Republic, and they are now in the depths of hell, leaving this world with regret and frustration.
“The Islamic Republic stands with full authority. And after this, it will be the same. They must know this; everyone must know, the enemy, their sincere friends, and those friends who sometimes hesitate, that the Islamic Republic is firmly standing; and know they can't knock us down, we will bring them down.”
The Leader of the Revolution also praised efforts made by the Holy Shrine Defenders and border guards who have been a pillar of security for the Islamic nation.
'If the defenders of the Holy Shrine were not there, the enemy would have brought the battle to our streets by now. Part of the great security we have today is thanks to border guards; the brave border guards and martyrs are not given the attention they deserve.'
The Leader added, “The value of our martyrs should be made clear; if the holy shrine martyrs were not there, we would be face to face with the enemy of Alh uhl bait, the enemy of the Iranian people, and the enemy of Shi'a in our own cities and streets.”
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed on the realities of Iraq and Syria, crediting Iran's defense for pushing them away.
'In Iraq, they wanted to reach the borders of the Islamic Republic, they were pushed away, and they were hit hard; now they're becoming completely depreciated and swept away. In Syria, if the work done by our valued commanders had not been carried out, we now had to fight very close to home.'
The Leader reiterated, 'An important part of today's security is greatly owed to the defenders of holy shrine'; another reason for our security is due in great part to our border guards. Our border guards and martyrs must be given the attention they deserve.'
Ayatollah Khamenei said in conclusion, 'The people must acknowledge their [defenders and border security] great service to them [the people]. Serving the country is not just providing water and bread; above all, it is [to provide] security.'
